Help I wanna join

Hey there! I guess, OOC. I’m new but desperately want to join a local LARP community with my partner :slightly_smiling_face:

Can anyone help me figure out where I’m supposed to send/find information to get started? <3

Hi there!

I’m one of the three storytellers for this campaign and we’d love to have you and your partner. Our next game is actually this coming Friday at 6pm. You can find out all the information for upcoming games and general discussion on our facebook page (or here on the forums)

We mostly use the rules for VtM, however we have some house rules which we’ve put here:

Unlike a lot of Vampire larps, this one is based around investigating and exploring the World of Darkness as opposed to politics (although that happens too) or combat (likewise with politics). The facebook page has a mortal setting for the game which has been posted.

If you would like help creating a character, or linking in with any of the current characters; feel free to sing out to myself or “Mike” on the forums, or make a post on our facebook page. If you would like to come along and play as a non-player character for your first game so you can meet people and get to know everyone before committing to a character, let me know and we can work something out that way as well.

You may also want to pop over to the Greater Waikato facebook page. Although we are currently the only larp running in Hamilton on a regular basis, there are plenty of people in the community who are more than happy to help you guys out and many of us travel to Auckland on a semi-regular basis to participate in larps there and can car pool people if required.

All in all, welcome and we look forward to getting to meet you and your partner in the near future.

On behalf of the storyteller team

Greg here from the committee.

I would also like to confirm that first time players have free admission (we have a nominal fee to cover hall hire)

Also the STs are pretty laid back and we have a policy of character changes allowed for new chars, so if you make up a char and then after a couple of games you want to change it up once you are more familiar with how it all works then you can do so, which is great because you can just have fun to start with and not be locked in.

Happy to meet up one evening to go over character creation so you have something prepped for Friday if you want.

Community Member/Elder here!

Cool that you want to get into LARP. A bunch of us are willing to workshop with you to make a functional and interesting character. Do you have any ideas of the type of character you would want to play? We’re open to newbies.
